Privacy Policy for TrustAI

1. Introduction

TrustAI ("we", "our", or "us") provides the Chrome extension TrustAI: Digital Forensic Agent. This Privacy Policy explains what data the extension accesses and how that data is handled.

2. Data Accessed by the Extension

TrustAI only accesses data when the user explicitly initiates an analysis. The extension does not run automatically in the background.

• Active Tab Content: When you click the analyze button, the extension reads the visible text content and basic metadata (such as page title and URL) of the currently active browser tab. TrustAI does not monitor browsing activity or access other tabs.
• Authentication Information: A session authentication token is stored locally using Chrome’s extension storage APIs to manage login state. This token is not shared with websites or other extensions.
• Local Scan History: The extension stores a limited local history of previous scans (such as scan timestamps and trust scores) for user convenience. Full page content is not stored locally after analysis.

3. How Data Is Used

Content submitted for analysis is transmitted securely to TrustAI backend servers solely to generate analysis results for the user, such as trust scores and risk indicators. TrustAI does not sell, rent, or use browsing data for advertising, tracking, or profiling.

4. Data Retention

Submitted page content is processed transiently for analysis and is not retained beyond the time required to generate results, unless explicitly disclosed to the user.

5. Third-Party Processing

TrustAI may use third-party AI service providers to assist with content analysis. Only the minimum data required for analysis is shared, and such data is not used for training, marketing, or advertising purposes.

6. Data Security

All data transmissions use encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used to protect data against unauthorized access.
